Flavourites

Flavourites is the Dutch website of Natasja and Marije, both busy entrepreneurs and mothers. The love shopping but found out that it's not that easy to combine that with a job and kids. Therefor they started their own webshop. They also created a magazine: Flavourzine around the webshop. Well done Ladies, keep up the good work!

Le Pain Quotidien

The wonderful Belgian chain of bakeries, Le Pain Quotidien (Our Daily Bread) is a well known spot for breakfast or lunch. It's a good bet for creative sandwiches made on fresh bread, and a wide range of delectable sweets. I love the communal table and everything is organic there. The chain now has more than 80 stores in 12 countries and it is still growing. There are similarly popular Le Pain Quotidiens in a number of cities, including Antwerp, Brussels, New York, Paris, London, and Holywood. I'm hoping for such a great concept in Rotterdam soon! Go check it out. You won't be disappointed!

Beauty Grill

Clean Danish design at its best. This Grill from Eva Solo. I love to BBQ outside when the weather here in Holland allows us to do so. When not in use for grilling, this porcelain bowl can either serve as handy food container, e.g. for salad or fruit, and even converts into an unusual outdoor fireplace.

Design on Stock

Unfortunately this post is only for my Belgian and Dutch readers since Design on Stock is only available in Belgium and the Netherlands. I love the products of Design on Stock. The designs are simple and the quality is just perfect. Recently I bought the Hopper couch and pouff and I must admit it's gorgeous.

More Swedish inspiration

Skeppsholmen real estate agency in Stockholm has some really nice listings. Look at this amazingly bright apartment with the typical Swedish design fixings (old meets new). And look at that gorgeous balcony! I really love this simple but stylish kitchen. Do you like this? Please leave me your comments.

Amsterdam International Fashion Week

Today was the start of the Amsterdam Fashion Week.Amsterdam International Fashion Week started in 2004 as an initiative to put Amsterdam on the map as a sparkling and internationally oriented destination for Fashion. Twice a year, Fashion Week forms the centre-point of the Dutch fashion world, with a full schedule of catwalk shows, trade fairs, presentations, lectures and parties.
The show programme is for professionals only and takes place at the former Gas Factories in Amsterdam's ‘Westergas' area. Young and established designers show their collections on the Amsterdam catwalk. With the growing interest in ‘Dutch Design', Amsterdam International Fashion Week attracts a growing audience of directional international brands, buyers and press.
Answering to immense popular demand, Fashion Week DOWNTOWN consists of numerous public catwalk shows, parties, shop launches, lectures and expositions, all organized in collaboration with local museums, galleries, clubs and shops.

Amsterdam is definitely worth visiting! Please let me know if you need some tips when you are over in Holland. This new Amsterdam street-style blog shows cute faces + legs. It gives an impression on what you can expect in Holland. Found this new blog via the fabulous blog of Joanne: A Cup of Jo. Thanks for the tip Joanne!

Tropical haven Sydney

In one of my earlier posts I featured the beautiful Molori Safari Lodge in South Africa. Today I would like to give you some inspiration from another Molori Mirage Lodge based in Sydney. This luxury B & B looking out over the Bay of Sydney is a beauty for those who can afford it.
Molori Mirage is an exquisitely-designed five-bedroom home located in Port Douglas, Australia. Nestled between the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest, Molori Mirage is a tropical haven, complete with palm trees and frangipanis in the yard, and offers exclusive-use accommodation and the highest level of comfort for up to 10 guests.

Sugar Apple Design

Via Marta Stewart I came across an entrepreneur called Shanda Chitmento, based in St. Thomas. She owns a company called Sugar Apple Design it is a fun, unique, adorable, and eco-conscious clothing line. She sells baby, kids, ladies tees tanks l-sleeve and accessories. She started the company a few years ago, the idea was to create botanical designs that represent the Caribbean, but that idea is evolving into plants, flowers, insects, animals, landmarks etc. A portion of every item sold is donated to saving our planet and all that lives on it. Isn't this a fabulous Island to start your business? Well done shanda. Would like to hear more from your great adventure!!

Dreamers into Doers contest

As you can see on the left hand column I have joined the 'Dreamers into Doers' contest by Marta Stewart. This contest is for entrepreneurial women across the globe. It will honour 2 women who have turned their passion into profession. This blog is a dream for me. I have the dream to create a real authority on travel, style and design. This platform will include daily international travel, style and design news, features, interviews, an online store, travel reviews and workshops (from) all around the world. I hope this contest will help me to follow my dreams and my profession as a worldwide editor. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas.

Greenhouse living

Isn't this amazing. A Greenhouse, designed for real people. As in a typical gardening greenhouse, this one is constructed from a prefabricated steel frame, alternating series of super-insulating transparent glass and translucent polycarbonate plates and extra insulation in the back of the house. The insulation in the back also serves the purpose of obscuring the views into the house.

Lille Lykke

Today I want to introduce you to Lille Lykke. Lille Lyke means small hapiness. It is the website from the Dutch entrepreneur Caroline Sleijffers. After a visit to Sweden and Denmark she decided to lauch her own webshop with lovely Scandinavian home decorations. I especially love the new collection of Tine K home, a brand from the Danish Tine Kjeldsen. At the age of 22 she opens her first lifestyle interior shop. By mixing old and new she creates a simply and stylish look.

Search for a new netbook

Samsung NC20
Apple Macbook Air

I'm searching for a new netbook. You know an ultralight and stylish PC that can come with me anywhere. I am currently one of those chicks with a very large Micromaxx laptop that has the weight of a normal stand alone PC....;-) So I have been browsing the web to get an idea of what is currently being offered. Here are my finds. Please let me know if you have any experience with those netbooks.

I’ve compiled a shortlist of notebooks for those also looking for one. I’m not sure what I’ll end up with… If you have additional suggestions please comment below and I’ll revise this post to include your link too. Thank you!

And as soon I have found a new netbook, I will search for a beautiful laptop bag via Decor8. Holly from Decor8 compiled a very extensive list with beautiful bags. Thank Holly!

Momo

Browsing the web is one of my hobby's. It is the best way to source inspiration and find new ideas for my home and website. Today I came across this beautiful Swedish Summer house. MOMO, which stands for Modernistiskt Modulhuskoncept and is Swedish for “modern module house concept”.Designed by architect Thomas Lind, the first of these 107 square feet modulars are assembled in Sweden in the summer of 2008. What makes it green? Their small size, solid wood materials, a roof that is to be a blend of water-storing succulents and grasses and a built-in stretched cloth shade.
