Spring is (almost) in the air!

Spring is getting nearer and Tine K. is presenting her new collection to retailers this week. Her beautiful spring collection with crispy silks and gorgeous linen is combined with delicate cottons in floral patterns. Sophisticated metallic balances the organic neutrals inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the natural straw found in the palm fields of Morocco. I'm so curious to see more of her collection. Black or white?

In my last post I asked for your help regarding the new colour of my bedroom wall(s). I'm still in doubt. If I look at the beautiful images of white bedrooms I'm still not sure if black is the right colour to paint my bedroom. Maybe I'm just affraid to do so;-) What would you suggest?

Hi sweeties, I need your help today! I'm thinking about a new colour for my bedroom wall and I am thinking about black or dark gray. This can be a good color contrast with our white shutters. I found some lovely images of subtile black walls. What  would you suggest?

Happy Monday

Good Morning Sweethearts! How are you today? Did you enjoy the weekend. I had a wonderful celebration weekend. Yesterdays family party was great fun! I will share some images with you later this week. The image above is the lovely home Malene Birger. She is a Danish fashion designer of different Danish brands and actually I love them all. To name a few: Designers Remix and DAY.

I just love the colours of this apartment. It gives a serene but warm athmosphere. And have you seen all the lovely frames she has used to decorate her bedroom and livingroom?  What do you think of this idea?

Have a fabulous weekend!

My lovely bloggers. What are your plans for the weekend? My fiance and I have a celebration for his birthday this weekend. Last night we went out for diner at Ivy. This is one of the latest hotspots here in Rotterdam. The modern interior is just the starting point. We decided to take the five course menu. In addition we gave the sommelier a free hand and asked him to sample the wines with the multiple courses. What an experience I must admit! Recently Ivy acquired a Michelin Star rating and chef Francois Geurds was given the Promise of the Year 2010 award by Gault Milau.  So we are quiet curious what kind of experience we can expect. And today we celebrate a party with the whole family. So I need to get prepared! Talk to you tomorrow!

Moomah NYC

A lovely new cafe in the Soho area in New York has arised: Moomah is an arty cafe with a creative mind for adults and their children.They state on their website it is, "A place of sweet whimsy, wonder and warmth, Moomah is a creative playscape, a cozy cafe, a living classroom, a quiet hideaway, an art oasis, your neighborhood meeting spot. Your favorite place to be together, and a place for your child to simply be." Brilliant, don't you think? Wow -- I wish more places like this existed!

Wallpaper 2.0

A new approach to traditional wallpaper is this idea of the new Swedish brand 'Off the Wall'. This is a 2 in one solution to decorate your room and create some storage room for your books.

Off the Wall is a 3-dimensional wallpaper. The concept consists of two elements - wallpaper and 3-dimensional shapes of acrylic sheets forming shelves and lamp shades. The 3-dimensional shape is maintained over the wallpaper and set against the wall with the same wallpaper. The result is that the wallpaper seems to come alive, bulges and rolls up, and forms to shelves and lamp shades.
The shelves are sold together with specially designed wallpapers with exciting designs. The wallpaper is printed on demand by Your Wallpaper. The entire collection will be presented here at the launch in January 2010.

Casa son Vida

One of the latest projects of Dutch designers Marcel Wanders is Casa Son Vida. This villa is located on the island of Mallorca. This old building is recently renovated by T.. Architects. Marcel Wanders created an interior with contrasts. I posted earlier on other Marcel Wanders creatures. Click here to read more. Barts hats

It's still chilly and cold here in the Netherlands. So what about a lovely Barts hat? I just came across this Dutch brand. I love these hats and their website is taking you to the snow:-)

Renovated farmhouse

Sometimes awesome interiors are just around the corner. This renovated farm house in Weesp, close to Amsterdam is a  real beauty. The owners a Dutch couple with their 3 children decided to buy an outdated farmhouse and made it into a pearl project.

simple ellegance with this lovely fireplace. The accessories are the perfect finishing touch.

I love the rustic athmosphere in the bedroom and the lightning with the white shutters is awesome.

IKEA+LEGO

"Whit LEGO you can create it all", that was the advertising slogan when I was a little kid. Do you remember? Earlier this year I posted about the cool LEGO project in the UK. Today I would like to share a  creative kitchen with you.

A duo formed by Parisian designers Simon Pillard and Philippe Rosetti created their own LEGO kitchen. They first bought a simple kitchen island at IKEA and then they've spend a few weeks covering it with more than 20.000 LEGO brick stones. What do you think of this creation? Would you like to have such a kitchen at home? Please leave me your comments?

Lovin' white

Hi sweeties, I'm in love with white floors. Browsing the web I found some lovely examples of white floors. It gives an awesome and serene athmosphere. We currently have a wooden white wash floor but I think I will opt in for a white floor in my next home. What kind of floor do you like? Hi lovely blog readers. How are you? Do you enjoy the weekend? I certainly do! We went out ice-skating this afternoon and tonight we prepare a lovely diner at home:-)
 Today I would like to take you to the lovely city of Melbourne where the lovely couple Sharon and David launched Robin Street market. 

They travel around the world to search for unique items. Their website is an online playground and store for unique and handmade gifts from around the world. I think this is an awesome initiative and their website is so inspiring! Recently they have been shopping in Amsterdam. Read the full story here.

Hello 2010!

My lovely readers, happy 2010! Another fresh year is here now! I hope all your dreams will come true this year. Did you had a good NYE party? We certainly had. What a party. I was completely knocked down yesterday but today it's getting better.... Later this week I will share some pictures of our party with you.
