Pretty in Pink

Pink can by pretty. Look at this beautiful loft. Decorated by interior designer Ghislaine ViƱas. This loft is located in Tribeca, New York. It is 200 square feet and located on the eighth floor of a former printing industry,
This style is based on a few principles: simplicity, functionality and pink. So pink.

The owner, a teacher of jazz dance, has a passion especially for the bright tones of pink, from pink to magenta. She wanted to give these colours personality to the family home. She lives in this loft apartment with her husband and four little ones. Live with her husband, banker, and four children. As you can see it is not impossible to live in an apartment with kids:-)

I just love the magenta touch in the kitchen. The large corner sofa is also an awesome item.

The house design reveals the origin of the Danish owner. If you take a closer look you may find many essential pieces of furniture by Arne Jacobsen and Hans Wegner.

The registry changes color in the bedrooms. There are the blue and green for the children's bedrooms. The materials are practical and functional. I'm looking for more inspiring interiors with magenta. Do you have some inspiration? Please let me know!!

New Urban Icon for Rotterdam

I'm proud to live in the city of Rotterdam. Rotterdam has loads of cool new architecture. People even call it 'Manhattan on the river Maas' Today I want to show you a new development in my home city. Designed by MVRDV and developed by Provast, this new public market place was recently announced by the mayor of Rotterdam as an upcoming project of the city. The construction of the Markthal already started and this colossal building will soon be one of the main attractions in Rotterdam.

The hall of the market will feature giant LCD screens playing fruit and vegetable images. Another striking detail is its arch, composed of ten floors with no less than 228 apartments, half for purchasing, half for rentals. Restaurants and shopping stores will be found on the first two levels and a giant supermarket will be accessible underground, as well as plenty of parking lots (1200 parking spaces). I'm looking forward to do my groceries in such a great hall. However that will take a while. Please click below to get a cool impression of this new urban icon. What do you think? Is this an inspiring place to do your shopping?

Modern white Beach House

Today I would like to go on a trip to California with you. Pleae come a bit closer and take a look at this awesome beach house. This beachfront house in South California is designed by Richard Meier and his partner Michael Palladino for art collectors. It fronts the Pacific Ocean to the south, a courtyard to the west, and the highway to the north. 4,280-square-foot modern house maximize every square inch of the site intelligently and like in many houses in this region the open space creates an exterior living room.

The courtyard provides a visual link between the entry, the highway and the ocean beyond. The public areas open onto the courtyard. The living room has double-height ceiling and links the enclosed spaces with the deck and ocean via a full-height wall of glass and sliding doors. The private living areas are hidden on the east side of the entry. Emmy asked me where this hotspot is located? Is there anybody who can help me out? I know it's in California but I haven't found more details than that. Please leave your comments below. Thanks for sharing!

Blue and white inspiration

Happy Monday! How are you today? Did you had time to create lovely memories this weekend? Did you enjoy it? I surely did! I went to see my friends. On Saturday I was visiting the world cup ice skating in Heerenveen and today I'm at home to relax and do some studying. Nevertheless I also want to share some beauty blue/white inspirations from Greece with you.

A natural and exclusive refuge, the Mystique Hotel offers charming rooms built on the most famous cliffs of Oia and with impressive views of the volcanic crater and the Aegean Sea. This hotel presents design matching its natural surroundings and the stunning beauty that it featues, a decor in the purest island style, a genuine hand-crafted work done with wood, local stone and glass. An establishment reserved for the most exclusive travellers.

This same composition of materials is found in the lovely 18 suites and villas of the Mystique Hotel, enhanced by pretty cushions made out of antique textiles and outstanding patterns carved in the walls. Inserted in a marvellous enclave of over 2.000 sq. mts, these rooms offer an intimate and comfortable space, all are fitted out with balconies or terraces and the most modern commodities.
The Hotel Mystique also makes available to its guests a marvellous swimming pool which seems to extend out into the blue waters of the sea and next to it there is a bar; a wooden terrace with deck chairs for sun bathing; a gourmet restaurant with an outdoor dining room and tasty regional cuisine and a spectacular wine cellar.

The crowning feature, the spectacular panoramic views of the Aegean and the volcano crater, are visible from practically all corners of the Mystique. A visual gift made visible due to the privileged location of the establishment in the beautiful village of Oia, just 18 kms away from the Santorini Airport. Today it's raining here in Rotterdam so I would love to go to such a lovely place and sit in one of those relaxing chair. What do you think? Please leave me your comments below!

Beach House

Today I'm dreaming of this beach house. Isn't this a lovely spot? I would love to have my own beach house soon. Imagine to have the sea in front of you every day! That must be so relaxing!! I think I have this strong feeling for the beach and the sea because I was 'made' born and raised close to the sea here in Holland. Do you live close to the beach? And what would you like to have in your neighbourhood? Please leave me your comments.

(I found this image via the beautiful blog Oliveaux. Thanks for sharing Janny)
