SNEAK PREVIEW: IKEA CATALOGUE 2011 PART II

Today is the day that the new IKEA Catalogue will be presented in NYC. Although I'm not able to go there myself for the launch I would love to share a sneak previews for the new kids collections with you today.  This is the new STUVA collection. I just love the bright colors for the kids room. Especially the blue combined with white is one of my favourites. What is your favourite colour?

And what do you think about the new soft toy collection for the little ones? It's super cute! Well done IKEA!!

IKEA: I'm Smitten

Via the lovely blog Space for Inspiration I fell in love with the new IKEA initiative. This Swedish website gives a lot of lovely party inpsiration. And that is just what I need since we are planning a 'Bubbles & Bites Party' mid June. What a lovely inspiration! Thanks for sharing Charlotta!

The Ikea phenomenon

The Vienna Furniture Museum  is exhibiting the IKEA Phenomenon this Spring. This exhibition is presenting the famous designs such as Billy and Ivar in the context of the history of design. A separate selection is devoted to the IKEA Hacks.

Subway living room

IKEA created a real living room in four of the most busy subway stations in Paris. The Swedish furniture and lifestyle brand “invades” the daily life of people, displaying sofas, lamps and other pieces in the staions, recreating a living room athmoshere for people waiting for their train.The idea is that people can try in first person the quality of the products and their comfortableness being surprised in an ordinary action like going back home from the office.

IKEA+LEGO

"Whit LEGO you can create it all", that was the advertising slogan when I was a little kid. Do you remember? Earlier this year I posted about the cool LEGO project in the UK. Today I would like to share a  creative kitchen with you.

A duo formed by Parisian designers Simon Pillard and Philippe Rosetti created their own LEGO kitchen. They first bought a simple kitchen island at IKEA and then they've spend a few weeks covering it with more than 20.000 LEGO brick stones. What do you think of this creation? Would you like to have such a kitchen at home? Please leave me your comments?

Preview Ikea 2010 collection

Found the first previews of the new Ikea collection 2010 via Cote Maison. These moodboards and images give a good first impression on what can be expected for the new season. I especialy love the moodboard with all the white products and accessories below. I'm already curious to see the whole catalogue in August.
