BEAUTY LIES JUST AROUND THE CORNER....(VIA URBAN STYLE VIBES*)

My friends, how are you today? I'm doing great. I just went to my weekly Yoga class so I'm fresh and inspired again. In my ongoing search for new hotspots across the globe I found one that is located just around the corner here in Holland. This is the beautiful restored bridge house design by architect Arjen Reas. A pretty cool mixture of modern urban elegance combine with the rough and basic fundaments from nature. This is almost my dream home. Imagine to have such a place....dream, dream, dream on...

Q. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS PLACE????

A VILLA THAT ROCKS

Good morning! How are you this monday? Are you ready to start the new week?
This weekend I found a great spot in the magazine of the Dutch Financial Daily. This villa is located in the village of Vals in the Swiss Alps.

Q.WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS NEW SPOT?

Situated deep in the mountains, the house is very hard to spot, which makes for a perfect gateway. The unusual architecture plan comes from architect Bjarne Mastenbroek from SeARCH and Christian Muller from Christian Muller Architects, and includes all the facilities a common house has, such as a guest room, an entertainment area, but also “specialized” interiors like an underground pathway. The entrance is a wide oval opening that you are driven to by some traditional stairs made in stone. But more important. This extraordinary villa is full of Dutch Design! If you take a closer look you will find the Dutchtub from Floris Schoonderbeek and the famous 'Knotted Chair' from Marcel Wanders.

You can book this lovely design villa via Villa Vals The costs per week are 1500 euro low season, up to 3000 euro in the peak season.

HOME TOUR: COPENHAGEN

Oh my sweet bloggerfriends. I need to share this with you. This is the lovely apartment from Rupert Landendinger in Copenhagen. Do you remember my post about the lovely home of Danish fashion deisgner Malene Birger? This is her husband. He is a Brand and Product director for Malene's company. And if you take a close look, you can see similarities in both interiors. By the way, both apartments are located in Copenhagen. What a treat!

I love all the frameworks and the use of serene colours combined with black.

Big grey tiles in the kitchen. Stunning!

A wooden hallway is just a beauty itself!

Hello Yellow

Today I'm inspired by the color yellow! So fresh, it feels like summer already:-)
Traditionally worn by Village Chiefs in the Cameroon region of central Africa, Juju hats (image above) have since gained popularity with interior designers, and are often used as an eye-catching accessory for the home. Beautiful bird feathers are painstakingly hand sewn onto a raffia fiber base/basket that splays out into a huge circle. Feathers are considered rare objects of beauty and a symbol of prosperity and wealth associated with the positive qualities of birds. When not in use, the Juju hat can be neatly folded in on itself for easy storage (as shown). A perfect example of fine, unique and skillful weaving from Central West Africa, Juju hats are available via the lovely webshop from blogger and entrepreneur Louise form Table Tonic. She even sells lovely morrocan pouffs and bedspreads to name a few.

and what about these handwoven cushions with a touch of yellow?

All items are availabe in the Table Tonic store

Q. Which one would you choose?

So cute!

Spring is almost in the air but we still need a little patience...Take a look at the cutest collection ever from Ferm Living. This Danish homewear brand really rocks this spring! Ferm Living joined forces with the Norwegian Design duo Darling Clementine. They used to design paper work and stationary but I think this is a great extension. What is your opinion?

All the items shown above are available as from April 2010 but the good news is that you can now place your pre-order @ LilleLykke . This is the lovely webshop and blog of Caroline Schleiffers. She has a great eye for lovely Scandinavian design.

Styling by Emma Thomas

Good Morning friends. It's quiet early here ( AROUND 7 AM) but I'm fresh and awake so I wanted to share some lovely images of stylist and Art Director Emma Thomas. She used to work for Marie-Claire, Times Online and some other inspiring names. These images say it all. I would love to have her around here, to pimp up my apartment.
