THIS SUMMER: PORTUGAL BOUND

Hello friends. I'm just back from my trip in the Caribbean so it's time to plan my next trip for this year. This summer we are planning a trip to Portugal. I do visit Lisbon for a few days and I think I would love to stay in the beautiful Fontana Park Hotel. Since its 2007 debut, the minimalist-chic Fontana Park has already racked up impressive awards (Best Interior Design: Rooms and Bathrooms, at the European Hotel Design Awards). Besides Lisbon we will visit the Alentejo region in the south west of Portugal. We will stay for a few days in the house shown above but we are still looking for great places to visit.

Q. DO YOU HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON WHERE TO STAY IN LISBON AND ALENTEJO? I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR TIPS/IDEAS?

BLUE & WHITE INSPIRATION

Hi blogfolks! How are you today? It's still winter here in Holland. But in the meantime I'm dreaming of a lazy summer day. Let's spent some time in Greece today. Cavo Tagoo is a unique luxury hotel near Chora of Mykonos, built into an impressive natural cliffside. With its luxurious barefoot chic aesthetic, its distinctive architecture, versatile services, and respect for traditional elements, Cavo Tagoo unfolds as an unparalleled experience.

I just love all the blue details combine with white. What a good combination! It matches with the color of the sea.

Q. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS PLACE IN GREECE?

TODAY I WANT TO BE IN...THE SOUTH PACIFIC

My dears it's almost Friday again. Time flies this week don't you think? This week I want to be in the beautiful Capella Lodge. Situated in the South Pacific Ocean, 700km north-east of Sydney, Australia.  Capella Lodge perches above Lord Howe Island’s spectacular Lover’s Bay, a boutique Lodge that carries all the hallmarks of beachside living with luxe.

For more luxe details click here...

The per person rate for a five night stay in a Capella Suite is $3540, and this then goes down in the cool season (effective 1 April 2011 to $3250). There are also some packages that make a stay more affordable, seehttp://lordhowe.com/packages.asp

I know this is an offer for the happy few but I didn't want you to miss this.

Q. ARE YOU DREAMING OF HOLIDAY TOO? AND IF SO, WHERE WOULD GO TODAY?

DESIGN HOTSPOT: AIRE DE BARDENAS

Hi Lovely readers across the globe. How is the week going? Do you need some new inspiration from Spain? Yes? Good news, today I will to show you a glimpse of the Design Hotel Aire de Bardenas. Enjoy reading!

It's getting a bit colder here in the Netherlands. Maybe we even get some snow and ice this weekend so what is better than a bit of day dream to go to Spain and sleep in this wonderful fairly new hotel. Hotel Aire de Bardenas is my kind of architectural heaven. Set in a dramatic landscape in Navarre, Spain, it was featured in the lifestyle magazine Wallpaper. Designed by Barcelona based architects Emiliano Lopez and Mónica Rivera, you can see more of their work here.

'FEEL FREE IN A TREE' HOTEL

Let's fly up north today to Hangard, Sweden 37 miles south from the arctic circle. This is the recently opened luxury Tree Hotel. The Swedes have eleveated the simple tree-houses into world-class hotel rooms for design-concscious travelers. The motto from the hotel is 'Feel free in a tree', sound brilliant not? There will be 4 different houses available, all with its own distinctive character.  I'd love to stay here for at least 1 night. Preferably in mid-summer;-)

MEXICO BOUND

If you don't mind I take you on a trip to Mexico today. This is the Be Tulum Hotel. While being a haven of relaxation, the resort is the place to be for the region’s creative scene. Establishing a community of locals and guests is very important to Argentinean-born Sas brothers – the co-owners of the Be Hotel group. Their reputation as Cordoba’s preeminent event organizers becomes evident in the hotel’s celebrated restaurant and in the rooftop bar where like-minded people come together to enjoy the laid-back ambiance.

Q. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS PLACE?
Be Tulum’s twenty spacious suites are housed in five buildings sharing a contemporary, minimalist design mix of local limestone, warm Brazilian wood and bold Bisazza mosaic tiles. Ground floor suites are equipped with a private pool and terrace, while upper floors offer free-standing Jacuzzi tubs and balconies.

PUERTO RICO RETREAT

Have you ever traveled to Puerto Rico? No? Today I will take you on a tour to this hidden beauty. The Urquiola Hotel has been renovated in the past three years. The hotel is located amid the undiscovered beauty and tranquility of Viegues Island, eight miles off the coast of Puerto Rico. This is the second W  Retreat in the world, following the succesful opening of W Retreat & Spa in the Maldives in 2006.

The design of W Vieques is as much inspired by the unique natural phenomena of the island as it is by the contemporary style of W Hotels. Throughout the property there was a meticulous attention to detail and craft, with a combination of locally recycled materials, organic forms, and Urquiola’s renowned and modern Italian furnishings that were created exclusively for W Vieques by B&B Italia, all of which celebrate Vieques’ wild and natural surroundings. I just love the combination of nature combined with the bright coloured furniture.

What do you think of this hotel styling?
