Inspiration from Sweden: Gray is the new black

How are you today? After yesterdays blue and white inspiration I think it's time to give you some lovely inspiration of interiors with accents in gray. Some people say that 'gray is the new black' What do you think? These are images of Stella Gerner. She made this images in Gotland Sweden for Elle Interior. I love this simple Swedish style!

I found this lovely inspiration via the lovely blog of Danielle de Lange The Style Files. She has an awesome blog and webshop. Please check it out if you have a minute. The original source is Elle Interior from Sweden (where else?;-)

Blue and white inspiration

Happy Monday! How are you today? Did you had time to create lovely memories this weekend? Did you enjoy it? I surely did! I went to see my friends. On Saturday I was visiting the world cup ice skating in Heerenveen and today I'm at home to relax and do some studying. Nevertheless I also want to share some beauty blue/white inspirations from Greece with you.

A natural and exclusive refuge, the Mystique Hotel offers charming rooms built on the most famous cliffs of Oia and with impressive views of the volcanic crater and the Aegean Sea. This hotel presents design matching its natural surroundings and the stunning beauty that it featues, a decor in the purest island style, a genuine hand-crafted work done with wood, local stone and glass. An establishment reserved for the most exclusive travellers.

This same composition of materials is found in the lovely 18 suites and villas of the Mystique Hotel, enhanced by pretty cushions made out of antique textiles and outstanding patterns carved in the walls. Inserted in a marvellous enclave of over 2.000 sq. mts, these rooms offer an intimate and comfortable space, all are fitted out with balconies or terraces and the most modern commodities.
The Hotel Mystique also makes available to its guests a marvellous swimming pool which seems to extend out into the blue waters of the sea and next to it there is a bar; a wooden terrace with deck chairs for sun bathing; a gourmet restaurant with an outdoor dining room and tasty regional cuisine and a spectacular wine cellar.

The crowning feature, the spectacular panoramic views of the Aegean and the volcano crater, are visible from practically all corners of the Mystique. A visual gift made visible due to the privileged location of the establishment in the beautiful village of Oia, just 18 kms away from the Santorini Airport. Today it's raining here in Rotterdam so I would love to go to such a lovely place and sit in one of those relaxing chair. What do you think? Please leave me your comments below!

Beach House

Today I'm dreaming of this beach house. Isn't this a lovely spot? I would love to have my own beach house soon. Imagine to have the sea in front of you every day! That must be so relaxing!! I think I have this strong feeling for the beach and the sea because I was 'made' born and raised close to the sea here in Holland. Do you live close to the beach? And what would you like to have in your neighbourhood? Please leave me your comments.

(I found this image via the beautiful blog Oliveaux. Thanks for sharing Janny)

Inspiration from mother nature

Nature can be so inspiring! Today I felt that I was very close to nature. We went to a Lake and forest close to the city of Rotterdam. It's one of the beautiful places and you feel that nature embraces you. Especially now when Autumn is in the air. Do you know this feeling? And which season do you love the most?

The images above from Paul Gallangher support my feeling today:-)

AU*M

Hi Blogger friends! How are you today? Almost ready for the weekend? Today I would like to take you on a trip to France. Are you ready?

French practice AU*M is an established architectural force overseen by a five-strong directing team, Edouard Minassan, Yves Duvernois, Pierre Minassian, Gilles Peillon and Jean Claude Rerolle.

The artful Biscuit House in the Lyon area is the architects’ latest residential gem. The project required hours of handwork for the realisation of its elaborate perforated untreated Iroko Tree wood curtain wall, which, combined with the fully glazed east façade, opens up the house to the rolling landscape. In the pipeline are several more private houses, our favourite of which is the White Snake House, a long flowing white transparent volume, due for completion next year.

Black & White Swedish style

I just can't get enough of lovely Swedish interiors. Today I would like to show you some inspiration in Black and White. It gives a serene and clean athmosphere. My experience is that it's always difficult to keep your interior as serene as this. On the other hand, it gives a personal touch to your home. What is your opinion?

Urban Ecofarm @ home

Food miles don't get shorter than this: the Biosphere Home Farm contains fish, plants and other mini ecosystems, and allows different life forms to live in harmony with each other. It looks like a 21st century aquarium crossed with stylish shelving unit. What do you think? Is this the future?
